Chapter 2018
In the palace ruins of Yerusia, the pope was staring incredulously at Sven, who was holding the staff. He gritted his teeth, not yet realizing the severity of the situation. "How is this possible? Why can't I reclaim my staff? Who are you?!" the pope roared as he unleashed a bolt of lightning toward Sven.
Sven raised the staff, and the lightning obeyed his command, striking the pope instead.
"This is impossible!"
The pope tried desperately to dodge while also defending against Torah's attacks. He was starting to feel overwhelmed.
Seeing this, Sven immediately rushed toward the pope and returned the favor, plunging the staff into his body. Then, Sven summoned otherworldly fire to attack the pope. The pope was shocked.
"You! You're a Shura!"
Sven smirked triumphantly.noveldrama
"Yes, thanks to you, I've regained my clan's divine artifact-the Shura Divine Staff!"
...
In ancient times, the West viewed Shuras as malevolent beings cursed with immortality. The gods of the West saw them as cost-free research material and repeatedly tormented them. Until one day, under the leadership of two particular figures, Shuras rose up in rebellion. They managed to reclaim two divine artifacts, but at the same time, one of the leaders was suddenly overwhelmed by the artifact's backlash and went berserk. His crazed actions quickly shattered the unity of their forces, and he was captured for experimentation. That person was Ace. The gods were interested in the bodies of Shuras because their anatomy was vastly different from that of gods or demons. Just like humans and their experiments, the gods constantly carried out infusion and extraction tests on Ace's divine power to observe his transformations.
Eventually, Ace became the gods' most favored tool. He was left with nothing but the desire to kill, which burned in his eyes.
The other leader of the rebellion seized the chaos as an opportunity to escape the Divine Territory. He fled to the East and lived a life of obscurity among ordinary people.
However, the curse of immortality
continued to affect him. He
witnessed the death of his beloved and the passing of his descendants. Realizing he could never fully integrate into human society he retreated to the peak of a snowy mountain.
There, he discovered a way to free himself. He transferred all his essence, including his soul and memories, into another person and then remained dormant within that person's body. This way, he could achieve the death that he longed for. The old man waited for s years until Sven arrived.
...
"This staff answers to me! Against the injustices of this world, I shall bring down punishment!" Sven declared in a tone that demanded divine authority.
The pope seethed. "Insignificant ants!" His body began to compress and expand violently. "I will make you regret challenging a god!"
The pope's body shattered, releasing a deep red orb of light. The orb flew into the sky with wind and clouds swirling around it. Everything in its wake was swept up before it ascended higher.
Above the clouds, a massive hand formed from storm clouds appeared before descending toward the ground.
Sven and Torah joined forces and exerted all their strength to halt the hand's descent. Despite their efforts, they could not stop it.
The entire palace turned into a

hellish landscape. Sven and Torah struggled to rise from the rubble. they surveyed the devastation around them, the god's laughter
echoed through the sky, shaking the
heavens.
It did not look like anyone else survived the attack apart from them. They had no time to dwell on the destruction. They had to stop the god's attacks.
As if confident in his victory, the god crouched down and examined the two men closely, a smug smile spreading across his face.
Just then...
